General Descriptions:
The Sales and Marketing Director is responsible for leading the sales, marketing, and customer service functions within the company. This role requires strategic planning, business development, and team leadership to drive revenue growth and enhance customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in manufacturing sales, including medical sales, and a strong ability to manage customer relationships, sales engineering, and market expansion efforts.
Key Duties/Responsibilities:
Strategic Sales and Marketing Leadership:
- Develop and execute comprehensive sales and marketing strategies to achieve business growth objectives.
- Identify new market opportunities and drive expansion efforts, particularly in the medical manufacturing sector.
- Oversee branding, advertising, and promotional campaigns to enhance market visibility and competitive positioning.
- Lead and mentor the sales engineering and customer service team to maximize performance and efficiency.
Sales and Business Development:
- Manage and oversee the Sales Engineering Department, ensuring technical sales support for product customization and client requirements.
- Establish and maintain relationships with key customers, distributors, and strategic partners.
- Develop and implement pricing strategies, contract negotiations, and sales targets to optimize revenue.
- Monitor sales performance metrics and adjust strategies as needed.
Customer Service and Relationship Management:
- Oversee the Customer Service Department to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction and retention.
- Implement customer feedback initiatives to improve product offerings and service quality.
- Resolve escalated customer concerns and ensure efficient problem-solving processes.
Market Analysis and Product Development Support:
- Conduct market research to identify trends, customer needs, and competitive landscape.
- Collaborate with R&D and production teams to align product development with market demands.
- Provide input on new product launches and enhancements based on customer and market feedback.
Team Leadership and Performance Management:
- Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing sales engineering and CS team.
- Set clear performance goals and conduct regular evaluations to ensure accountability.
- Foster a culture of innovation, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field (MBA preferred).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in sales and business development, with a strong background in manufacturing sales.
- Proven track record in medical sales and familiarity with regulatory requirements in the medical industry.
- Strong leadership experience managing direct reports.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to analyze market trends and develop strategic sales plans.
- Working knowledge of the rubber or plastic industry highly desirable.
- Experience working with CRM systems and sales analytics tools.
- Willingness to travel as needed.
Additional Duties & Responsibilities:
- Overseeing Precision’s Web site and utilizing existing resources
- Attend trade shows and conventions as needed
- Travel outside of the state up to 10% of the time
- Other responsibilities as assigned by the company president
Working Conditions & Pay
- Working in the physical office M-F
- This is bonus and profit-sharing eligible position
